Aishwarya Review
by MyMazaa.comIndrajith Lankesh has taken the strong inspiration from two films 'Gajani and Manmathudu'. He knows pretty well that the audiences in Karnataka are avid watchers of Tamil and Telugu films. To meet their taste he has mixed up these two language films and formed a film of his own.
Abisekh (Upendra) is averse to fair sex in his life. He has only one male employee but all the other are good looking girls in his advertising office. He is the manager of his uncle's business organization. In comes the lovely looking Aishwarya (Deepika Padukone) as assistant manager. Abisekh hatches ideas to send this Assistant manager right from the first day. He even steals her idea in a lip stick ad, locks her in the bathroom and get good name from plagiarism. When Aishwarya does not make it to the important meeting he shouts at her shabbily and that makes Aishwarya to quit the job. She goes to the MD of the company €“ uncle of Abisekh and she is surprised to get a promotion as Manager of the company replacing Abisekh. In the meantime the MD describe the past of Abisekh. That is a long flash back. Abisekh is a No.1 ad world master unknowingly falls in love with Anjali (Daisy Boppanna) for her good attitude towards physically handicap children. But at the same time Anjali claims that she knows Abhisekh very well and gets hold of more jobs. But when Abisekh himself comes and stands before her she is not able to identify him. Abisekh fallen flat to her inner beauty does not disclose his whereabouts affluence. When the time comes Anjali is surprised to know the truth. At the happy moment of Anjali and Abisekh tragedy strikes. But the seniors in the family utter a lie. What is that? After the reopening of the flash back it unfolds. In the meantime Abisekh and Aishwarya like each other but they are not ready to express their love. So what you would say? Abisekh changes his attitudes towards female employees and learns to live for the better life. Both Aishwarya and Abisekh are expecting each other to express their love and it happens at the end in a racy style.
Upendra with short hair cut and colorful costumes and cooling glass is cool in his role. This type of role suits him very well. The family audience would definitely like this creative director turned actor Upendra. The thin and lanky Deepika Padukone has got a tremendous future in filmdom. She has that grace and she is definitely in the race for No.1 slot in the days to come. Daisy comes like a cool breeze performs very natural on screen and remains in tact in the memory. She has a short and sweet role that is very bubbly.
In the comedy and supporting department there is no laxity. Komal, Dayanand and Doddanna give lighter moments. Ramesh Bhat, Ramakrishna are the precise selection in the supporting cast.
The title song Aishwarya€¦., and 'Manmatha' are the best of the lot. KK in the camera department is extremely good. The Vienna tower shots and exotic locations of Europe are very well captured. In some of the scenes KK has played with light and shade. The one particular shot where he first shows the shadow of plane and even before the plan moves in the air the vehicle driven by Upendra race past it is splendid.
This is a film you should not miss.
